Creating Your Culture (CYC) is a new science-based approach towards creating a fulfilling life. The CYC Program will help you to, first of all, define what is fulfillment to you? What do you value in life and what behavior and activities would be aligned with that? How is that in all of the 4 Life Areas? This step-by-step Program will take you by the hand and help you to turn your desire into reality.

Phase 1: What Makes You Happy?
You can only determine whether you are having a succesful journey if you know very clearly where you are going. In this case you want your journey to lead you to more happiness and fulfillment in daily life. So, what are the dominant feelings and thoughts you want to manifest in your personal life? The activities of Phase 1 will help you to sort out what you value and supports you to by pass false Picture Perfects that will not make you more happy at the end of the day. You will define your desired life for all Life Areas: Self, Social, Health and Wealth. They are all having a huge impact on enjoying a happy life.

Phase 2: Discovering Your Gap
Great you know where you are headed (Phase 1). Now you will need to know your starting point. What is your current situation? What Unwrittten Rules do you have going on that are impacting your happiness in daily life? The activities will help you to map your current mini-culture. There are Hidden Logics behind your current behaviour. That’s why it’s difficult for you to change them with only some will power. With the activities of Phase 2 you will deeply understand why you are currently behaving the way you do. There is a logic behind it that you will need to tackle. Phase 2 helps you to get a clear view on WHAT you want to tackle. The activities of Phase 3 will help you HOW to change them.

Phase 3: Bridging Your Gap
CYC gives you 5 different Windows to look and work on the thoughts and behaviors in your life you would like to improve (output Phase 2). This approach of the 5 Windows is based on the doctorate research of dr. Johan Boudewijns, one of the founders of CYC. In each Window you will receive practical tools to work on the Unwritten Rules you would like to change because they don’t fit in your desired mini-culture.

The 5 Windows of Change have supported large companies to ingrain a high performance culture by bending the Unwritten Rules. After being successful with this for 25 years we realized that these insights are so valuable at home.

How to get the maximum of the CYC Program?

The Creating Your Culture program has 111 activities waiting for you. The activities are (1) short videos, (2) Doodly tutorials and (3) assignments. On average an activity will take 10 mins. So, you potentially have done a total reset of your life, in 18,5 hours…

That’s less than half a work week! Fit working on the program in your life in a practical way. You can spend every day half an hour or once a week 1,5 hours, for example.

To change habits you will need to practice in daily life. Make sure you do this as you live your life. So 20 hours straight is not advisable, but find a way that works for you and include some time in between so you ingrain your desired life into reality.

3 tips!

  1. Building momentum is very important if you want to change habits. Practicing in daily life is super important. That is where you will see the progress you are making. That can just happen in conversations, moments you are driving or waiting somewhere.
  2. The  insights necessary for your journey are  in the videos. The evolution of you takes place through the assignments. Be your own best friend and create a nice environment for yourself to work on your happiness levels. Be warm (not too hot), get yourself something nice to drink, put on some music you love, breathe a few times and feel how you feel before you start. For me it works very well to take a short walk and then get a coffee in one of my favorite coffee houses as I am thinking and going through the activities of the Program. (Unwritten Rules at home change in every phase of life, so yeah, I also find myself going back to CYC. Very precious me-time that helps me to keep high happiness levels during changes of life).
  3. Sharing your take aways with someone. You will remember your learnings and intentions more vividly when you have verbalized them. Words have power.
